```Pat Benatar Tempe Concert reviews
A little "corny," but still entertaining.
This was probably the coolest venue to see a live band in California, the Fox Theater in Oakland. I loved the fact that there were ample room to roam around on the floor and more than enough bars to order drinks. The stage and the overall decor were amazing. I will definitely come back for more shows, and I can totally picture Radiohead "owning" the stage here.
Pat Benatar played all my favorite songs and most of their classics, so I can't complain too much. However, my girlfriend and I somehow felt like they were playing for a "junior high" crowd. Mr. Jenkins made everyone feel like they were his family, using his exact words "I want you all to know that deep down in my heart I consider you guys as friends. Everyone here." Or something like that.
There were the "Rock 101" moments, like when he climbed on one of the amps during a song for about 30 seconds and sat there for no apparent reason at all.
This was their "record-release" show in front of their home crowd, but it all just seemed a bit over-produced and even a bit corny at times.
This review is coming from a "casual" Pat Benatar fan who has only seen them play live once before at a free concert on a college campus about 1 1/2 years ago. So, take from this review what you will.
They played for almost 2 hours and played most, if not all of my favorites, as I mentioned above.
My brother saw them at the HOB a month ago and thought they were really good, without many of the complaints that I had about this show.
In the end, I would recommend catching Pat Benatar live the next time they come to your town, especially if you haven't seen them before.
